Wore my first pair on the AT in ‘23. The only issue I had was mine not wanting to stay up. My husband didn’t have that problem with his. I believe it’s only an issue for those with more slender calves. That being said I put a small gather in the upper part and put a few stitches in it and it worked beautifully. Having sent them to insect shield before using them I did not have any ticks or reaction to any poison oak or ivy my entire hike. One of my favorite pieces of gear! That’s why I ordered more.
They don't stay up
i have been using the other main brand of colorful gaiters for years, but decided to give these a shot for my thru hike in 2023. from day one, i couldn't get them stay up. they would slide down within half a mile. the only way i found to make them stay was to wet the material. i still ended up getting poison oak on the bigfoot trail and being frustrated by constantly trying to adjust these. the material degraded pretty fast too and the hooks were starting to come off. i will be going back to dirty girl gaiters from here on out.

I know ticks hate them.
these add in a benefit my other gators don't, lower leg cover. its just enough the ticks in the grass have nothing to grab. i also like to hike in shorts but find myself in poison oak and ivy often, and these are the perfect answer. you can just shove em down if you want, but when i trail tested them i forgot i was wearing them...until people asked where i got them.

ULTRA GAMS! ULTRA AWESOME!
My ultra gams are AMAZING! Got the calf length with the alligators. Such a good pun. Lol. Easy to attached the Velcro to my shoe, it stayed on despite miles of deep sand, creek crossings, boulders, heat, etc. happy to say I got no tick bites and almost no sand in my trail runners at all! Would 100% buy again. Thank you!
