When you need some ventilation, the zippered foot box allows you to completely open to a blanket. The options in between are endless and create a truly flexible sleep system.

United States United States11 Nights on the Tour Du Mont Blanc
I bought the Flex 30°F Quilt by Katabatic Gear from Garage Grown Gear in July, 2023. I used it for 11 nights on the Tour du Mont Blanc (August 3 - 13, 2023). There were a couple of cold nights, in which I needed to wear additional layers of clothing, but that is no fault of the quilt. Weather in the mountains is very unpredictable. I am delighted that GGG allowed me to purchase TWO quilts, and then return the one I didn't want (which turned out to be the Enlightened Equipment Revelation 20°). Comparing them side-by-side in my living room, the Katabatic seemed like the better-made quilt, and I was not disappointed. The point is - it meant a LOT to me to be able to do that side-by-side comparison!!

The quilt is great! I am using it on my AT thru-hike and so far it has performed as expected pr better. I really like how dry it remains even in damp wet weather.

This purchase was one where I have no doubts about. I've had experience with multiple lesser quilts, and I am glad I finally bit the bullet and bought a top tier quilt. This has never leaked any down, weighs exactly as expected, the pad strap system is wonderful, and the footbox cinching system works very well. The fabric feels excellent, the stitching is perfect, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Katabatic is the very definition of performance when and where you need it most. Flexible design lets me regulate heat, important when you are a warm sleeper. Pad fitting is easy, just be careful with an uberlight pad. If you puncture the pad it's user error - doesn't make it better when it happens.
