The one review
I purchased The one by Gosamer Gear. To upgrade my previous tent to further my weight reduction. I will not be using it until this summer. I am anxious to see how well it works.
First Trekking Pole Tent
This is my first trekking pole tent. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to take it on a backpacking or camping trip, so I can't speak to that part. However, I do appreciate how small and compact it is. It's light, too. I was hesitant about getting a trekking pole tent, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up. The material is thin and I worry about poking a hole in it if I'm not careful. The bathtub floor is a great size, much bigger than other 1-person tents I've tried. I do wish that the bathtub was fully symmetrical so I can sleep with my head at both ends if I wanted to. I'm looking forward to taking it on a trip so I can see how it handles in those conditions.
Great Lightweight Tent
I was skeptical about trekking pole tents a first but with the weight and ease to setup there’s no going back to traditional backpacking tents.
Impressive for the weight, easy setup.
It has held up well for 7 nights so far, and I'm very happy with the weight. It has done fine in a couple small thunderstorms, haven't put it through any high winds yet though. Easiest tent I've ever had to set up.
The One tent Gossamer Gear
I used it in the White Mountains NH for an overnight backpacking trip where I setup on a platform at Guyot campsite. Overall I'm very pleased with this tent and its extremely light weight. There was no rain or wind to test out its durability that night and because its a single wall tent there was a bit of moisture on the walls on the interior of the tent in the morning (to be expected with any single wall tent). Other than that I am very pleased with the product!
