I really enjoyed this hearty meal! It was flavorful and I really liked the variety of veggies inside. I also liked that it came with a little garnish bag :) Definitely going to buy a few more of these for my upcoming trips.

First I must say I've never been a fan of grits. I wasn't raised on them and when moving to the south I found them to be bland and disgusting even though I LOVE hominy. I was hesitant to try this but decided that if they could do good on the one that I was afraid of eating the other two would probably be delicious. I'm eating this one now. Holy smokes! Flavor bombs going off in my mouth and different textures from the cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. The cheese, spice, and cilantro packet was an awesome addition! This would rival the best Mexican restaurant out there. There's enough for two people especially if you throw a fried egg on top. I wish his company had more flavors. It definitely ain't no mountain house! There are great new family run businesses out there doing great food. Companies like Mountain House have got to do better or they're going to become passe. I also appreciate the simple ingredients that I can pronounce. I'll be getting more on Tuesday. Hope you still have them in stock.

If you like grits you will like this, period. The poblano blends well with the sweetness of the corn and the mushrooms and tomatoes are good sized (not just tiny veggie pieces like a lot of other brands). I had this at home because I had just had the other two meals on an adventure and was eager to try the last one. If you can eat this not in a backcountry setting and it still tastes this good.....thats when you know a freeze dried meal is truly special.
