The Versa Flow was designed to be as versatile as you. It easily adapts to your lifestyle and can be screwed onto a plastic water bottle, used inline with your hydration pack, used as a gravity system or bucket filter, or can be used as a straw so you can drink directly from the water source.

The Versa Flow water filter is one of the lightest and most convenient personal water filters on the market. Weighing in at only 2 ounces, you don’t have to worry about adding extra weight to your pack or try to find a dedicated spot for it. It will fit virtually anywhere. This water filter is perfect for backpacking, hiking, camping, travel, and emergency preparedness.

Features:

  • Size exclusion technology: thousands of tiny holes (0.1 microns) block 99.9999% of harmful bacteria
  • Backflush allows you to clear out all particulates and increase lifespan of filter, meaning no additional filters, cartridges, pumps, iodine drops, or batteries ever again
  • Attaches to standard plastic bottle with internal 28 mm threading
  • Flow rate of 1 gallon in 5 minutes
  • Exceeds EPA standards for filtration

*Note: the Versa Flow water filter does not remove chemicals or viruses from water. Generally, viruses are not found in North America or in municipal water supplies around the world.

    Good enough as a gift

Bought this as a holiday gift for a family member because the 2 filters I own work really well. Light. Packable. Functional. Reliable. .

    Good but.....

My go-to filter has been the Sawyer Squeeze. With that said, I recently purchased the HydroBlu Versa Flow filter from GGG to see how it compared to the Squeeze. Here is my experience and my thoughts after using the Versa Flow on my last backpacking adventure. I like the dual threaded ends of the Versa Flow. The benefit of this design is the threads eliminate the need to carry or use a separate adapter for purposes of back flushing, unlike the Sawyer Squeeze. This is a big plus as is the Versa Flow's weight and price, which is 1 oz and 40% less, respectively, than the Sawyer Squeeze. With this said, the downside of the Versa Flow, as I see it, is the exposed nature of the female thread on the outflow end of the filter, which I have found efficiently collects debris, such as dirt and pine needles, as you brush past saplings or other vegetation while bushwhacking or walking along trails that are highly vegetated and narrow. On more than one occasion I have found myself coughing and hacking because I ingested a pine needle, or God knows what, while drinking from the filter. One must take care to ensure any detritus collected in the exposed end is removed prior to drinking. This seems obvious enough except that sometimes the debris is tucked away in the threads and not easily seen; especially when taking a gulp on the go. Another downside of this design is the rubber cap that covers the outflow end of the filter. It doesn't snap on and during my trip I unfortunately found it was easily and unnoticeably removed and lost by tree and brush branches that swiped along my pack. I believe the debris issue is more of an annoyance and not a show stopper and, despite the cap issue, I would still recommend the Versa Flow above the Sawyer Squeeze because: 1) it weighs a third less than the Squeeze; 2) it doesn't require an adapter to back flush, and; 3) it's much easier on your wallet. The rubber caps on the Versa Flow, though, do warrant a design review, in my opinion.

    Best Filter Available

The threads on both ends of this filter make it so easy to backflush. Nothing fancy and yet everything you need. I’ve never had to soak them to get them to work. Good price.
