It's a new edition of The Cache, your bi-weekly roundup for all things ultralight. New gear, new brands, interesting events, curious conversations, sales, giveaways, and just about anything and everything that we find remotely relevant. This week we look at: The return of ibex, Yellowstone's first female chief ranger, a new Voormi layer, and Sasquatch Fuel.
ibex is back!
After closing its doors in March of 2018, ibex is back! Known for its high quality merino wool, ibex is relaunching a trimmer and leaner company. With only 1 full-time employee and a greatly reduced product line (from 450 to 30) ibex is hoping to re-enter the outdoor industry as "urban performance wear." At least to start, ibex will be found exclusively on its own website. When will they officially be back in business? Cryptically this fall!

Yellowstone's First Female Chief Ranger
Yellowstone was the first national park, and now they have their first female Chief Ranger! Sarah Davis has worked in the National Park Service for the past 20 years, and after serving as chief ranger at Natchez Trace Parkway for the past 7 years, she moves across the country to Yellowstone. Congrats Sarah!

New Voormi 1/4 Zip
Sure ibex is back, but Voormi has been cranking out fantastic products the whole time! Now Voormi releases a new, but classic product: the 1/4 zip! Made from the same fantastic merino wool that goes into all of their made in the USA products, this layer drops just in time for colder weather.
Brand to Check-Out: Sasquatch Fuel
We are in the renaissance of dehydrated backpacking meals. While there are new brands popping up each week, there are some that rise above the rest. One of those companies is Sasquatch Fuel! Their newest meal "Kickin Cactus Bowl" is becoming their best seller, and Sasquatch Fuel gives 10% of its sales from the Cactus Bowl to support The Arizona Trail Association. Sweet, right?
