Awesome tent
Super awesome tent. Going to buy both inners when they’re back in stock. One of the lightest pyramid tents on the market.
Bonfus Middus 2P
i used the bonfus middus 2p tent for a 12 night june thru-hike of the sht. this is a great tent. it is very spacious for one person, pitches easily, is very well made, has a huge vestibule, and has great ventilation. it rained one night, and the tent stayed perfectly dry. the tent and internet are sold separately. it’s hard for me to see why anyone would just buy this as a tarp, because of its weight, but it would shelter as many as three people in tarp mode. for the sht in june, the internet is essential. notwithstanding that this is a great tent, before you buy it you need to consider the trade-offs, compared to the alternatives. in my case, the alternative is my zpacks altaplex, which also is a great tent, but is showing its age. comparing the middus 2p vs. altaplex (which is a little unfair because the altaplex is a one person tent), the midas is bulkier to pack, has a very large footprint (which could limit where you can pitch it), and is more expensive. but, most significantly, it’s about 10 ounces heavier with the internet. you’ll need to decide whether the larger size, and much better ventilation (including that the internet essentially makes it a double wall tent compared to the altaplex, which is single wall), are worth the extra weight and cost. i’m still uncertain. what i’m sure of is that this is a 5 star great tent, and i’m glad i have it.
