Cord winder or sometimes called line holder for food bag or bear bag kits. After watching a video of a hiker using a larger "kite winder" to organize his bear bag line Hilltop Packs came up with an idea. They built a smaller lighter, stronger version to keep cordage neat and contained.

Simple item, but I have wanted something like this for ages! Always had an eye out, but never really 'looked'. Stumbled upon this on the website browsing the misc gear pages and immediately ordered. So tired of untangling my bear hang cord each time. Exactly what I needed. Glad you guys have all the random items in one place!

Easily wraps up 50ft of line and keeps it from getting to be a tangled mess. Would also like to see a 2/3rd size version for 1.18mm line.

All I want to do is hang the food bag and be done with it. Also winding the line in the morning is quick. The construction is strong enough for a fair bit of abuse, but if you are abusing a line reel... seek help please. It should hold up to the average wear and tear of backpacking. It might snap if you force it. Other than that... I like it! It suits me. It will be an every trip addition to my kit.

It works exactly as advertised. I think it could be a bit smaller and thinner but the product works as is and I've had no issues with it.
