The ultralight Alpha™ Drifter Cap is made from Polartec® Alpha™ Direct fleece. With four different weight options, and a 2-ply brim on the 60gsm and 90gsm Cap for extra warmth and durability, the Drifter Cap is surprisingly warm for its weight. The Alpha™ 60gsm Cap only weighs 13 grams while still being comfortable in 3 season weather. A great piece under a helmet, while enjoying winter sports, or for strenuous activity like cold weather running, climbing, or hiking.

Yes, its open weave is not so warm in a breeze BUT with something (a hood or scarf?) over it, the hat is warmer than most. I love that I can put it into the pocket of my coat -- it's not bulky -- to wear later when it gets colder.

I'm so pleased with my Farpointe Alpha Drifter cap! I got the burgundy 90gsm in size small. It's hard to find hats that fit my tiny head, thank you for offering this in my size! It's so light and warm, I often forgot that I even had it on. Excellent temperature regulation- I never felt too warm with it on, but I sure felt the cold after I took it off. Thin enough that I could wear it under a baseball hat for chilly morning starts. Overall, perfect product!

I have not used this hat a lot so far as the weather has been warm, but it fits well, is very comfortable and is perfect for cold nights sleeping with a quilt. It’s also the lightest warm hat I have found.

I like the cap. I wear a crazy large hat size and the size large, 120gsm cap fits me. I do wish it was warmer though. With a buff over my ears though it works well down to freezing temps.
