United StatesReally comfortable
I bought 3 backpacks with the intention of returning two. This is the one I kept. I haven't tried it on trail yet, but at home with about 20lbs, it was the most comfortable of any backpack I have. The straps are wide and very curved and are further apart than other straps which I guess is why it's so comfortable. There is no structure to the main compartment so you do have to pack it mindfully. No hipbelt which is fine by me (you can add one later if you want). The stretchy shoulder pockets fit my huge phone on one side and my water bottle on the other. The pocket underneath is pretty interesting -- I'm sure it will work for snacks, paper map & compass, hat, whatever small things I may want without taking my pack off. I think this pocket will be better than hip belt pockets. I wish it had a zipper pocket (for wallet & keys), but I can live without one. I bought a ditty bag instead. Amazingly light weight. I think it would work as a carry-on on an airplane if not stuffed full; or it will easily fit (empty) inside my rollaboard. It packs to almost nothing, just the wide shoulder straps and some fabric. Can't wait to take it out on the trail!

I was a bit skeptical about buying a pack weighing less than a pound but this one did not disappoint. First of all the company is ran by one guy named Scott. And he is extremely good at communicating and accommodating to the customer. I wanted to get a custom made pack directly from him but I wouldn’t get it in time for my first trip of the year so I decided to buy one from GGG. This pack carries weight extremely well and has all the features I was looking for.

Was a little nervous and skeptical about going UL but with the right gear and good preparation, this pack definitely excels in the quality category. The shoulder straps are super comfortable being that the pack doesn’t have a hip belt. Scott is a master of his craft. I got a pack from this website but I will most likely order a custom pack in the future.

Scott made me this exact pack but in a different color. I got it from him directly but he doesn’t have any reviews here yet so I figured close enough to throw in a word. I’ve been very pleased with this pack. A simple, thoughtful design that’s everything you need to get down the trail and nothing you don’t. The materials are nice, construction is top notch, and the craftsman (Scott) clearly cares about putting out a quality product. You won’t regret it!
