*FAQ: How does it compare to the Pad-Pal by Rex CreationsBoth are great pad inflators and both weigh about the same! The Alpenblow takes a bit longer to inflate (about 3 -5 minutes to inflate) but it is substantially quieter and can inflate when connected to your phone.

    Yes!

Love the Alpenglow. I had an older model of another brand pump that was 3 oz and pretty clunky. Finally broke down and got this little UL pump and so happy with the purchase. It's so freaking light! Very quiet. Much more quiet than my other pump. Unfortunately it's slow as molasses, but you attach it to the pad and can walk away and do other things while it inflates. The fact that it's so slow doesn't bother me since I don't have to sit there the whole time. It also doesn't inflate the pad 100%, however, I don't like my pad inflated all the way to maximum inflation, so by the time the Alpenglow is done my pad is pretty much at the perfect inflation level for me.

    An ultralighters must have!

If you have an ultralight inflatable sleeping pad and an ultralight base weight, and you want to keep it ultralight, then this is the pump for you...Period!. After finding that only one of the four supplied adapters could actually be used to inflate my Rab Ultrasphere 4.5 ultralight sleeping pad, but only via the larger deflate valve, I toyed with the idea of trying to make my own adapter or modifying one of them to fit the smaller inflate valve. Then I reached out to the Alpenblows creator, Tom Liggett, giving him detailed dimensions of the adapter size I needed using a digital Vernier gauge, and a week or so later Tom sent me four new prototype adapters to test out. Only one of them fitted well enough to stay in the valve on it's own but it was still a tad loose and a bit too tall. I tried putting some tape around it which helped to stop air escaping around the adapter but it wasn't perfect. After letting Tom know he managed to buy a spare Ultrasphere valve direct from Rab in the UK and this enabled him to get the dimensions just right and he sent me two more prototypes. Fantastic customer service!! The new Rab adapters fit the inflate valve perfectly, and now my Alpenblow fully inflates the Ultrasphere 4.5 in just two and half minutes! So if you can't find one of his adapters to fit your sleeping pads valve properly, drop him an email and I'm sure he will do his best to make it happen.

    Good but not great $$$

The pump it self is tiny and seems to be of good quality for 3D printing adapters work well. Very quiet which is a bonus. Just tested on my All Season Tensor regular wide. At six minutes the pressure in the pad was greater then the pressure the pump puts out. Ran for another 4 minutes for total of ten minutes. Took four breaths to firm pad up. I will still use it for the size and easy. I believe this is very over priced for what it is and the lack of power. This is a 3D printed fan housing and adapters. Buy a plug, router fan,+motor. Probably right around $10 to make. Should be sold as a 3D file and parts for self assembly for $20 or assembled for $30.

    Very quiet but very slow

If you’re outside your tent while it’s going, it’s hard to hear. But it takes about 20-25 minutes to inflate my standard size 2.5” mattress. Of course, you’ll have to finish the job by mouth.
