Welcome to the NEW PoleClinometer 2.0 - featuring the exact same functionality as the original design, but with MUCH easier installation. This change was implemented in Fall 2020 based on customer feedback.
Knowing slope angle is a critical factor in assessing avalanche hazard. The PoleClinometer slope meter is the quickest and easiest way to get accurate “on the go” slope angle measurements. It’s a sticker you put on your ski pole that lets you measure slope angles by line-of-sight. Who knew 0.05 ounces could save your life?
This sticker kit turns your ski pole into the world’s lightest and fastest slope meter! Here's what's included...
- PoleClinometer Stickers - 2 sizes to fit all standard pole pole diameters
- Wrap-Ruler - to measure your pole
- DANG-A-LOOP bungee - for the most accurate dangle

Specs:
Compatibility: For the PoleClinometer slope meter to work, your pole must be
- STRAIGHT (not bent)
- UNIFORM (no bamboo knuckles)
- CYLINDRICAL (no elliptical or teardrop cross-section, no upper-shaft taper)
You'll also need sufficient unobstructed space in the upper shaft section to install the sticker - minimum 60 to 75 mm in height, depending on diameter.
Size:
- Standard size will fit poles 14-18mm in diameter
- XL will fit poles 20-22.5mm in diameter
Weight: 0.05 ounces | 1.5 grams

Great trinket to quickly evaluate terrain
Handi dandi little addition to fast n easy check your terrain features!

Interesting measurement tool, but way too expensive with import taxes to France
Hi, first I will suggest that European buyers don't buy it, as I paid 15 € importation taxes to France !!! That doubles the price :-( As for the stickers, easy to install, although it's hard to determine the size and halas doesn't fit on poles with backcountry grips - but that was clearly specified on the website. I wanted to try nonetheless, so I bought them, and removed part of the (very, very) long grip on one of my poles. L size fits ok. I tried to estimate slopes last weekend, and it seems relatively accurate compared to eyesight estimate and control on Iphigénie + IGN slopes map. In fact, the hardest thing is to be in the right place to mesure. Dangle is easy, but my arm is a bit too short for front measurement, and it would requiere to be too close to a steep slope with a real avalanche risk. But not worse than measuring with a clinometer already in the slope itself ! I mostly use it to teach to participants to distance eye-estimate a slope and counter check with the pole and Iphigénie (I'm a volunteer instructor with the French Alpine Club).

Good stuff, however hard to use on long poles

Anyway, thanks to the inventors, it's a good idea, although way too expensive when bought from Europe.

Great product!
Great product with easy instructions! Thank you!
