Great active layer for skiing
I've been looking for an active layer in prep for the PCT and wanted to try a hoodie made with Alpha 90 material. This is my first time trying this material and design and I wanted an active layer for skiing as well to stay warm when wearing over my wool base layer and then under a rain jacket. Usually I get too hot when going down the mountain and then cold going up on the lifts with other synthetic layers, but I only felt slightly chilled on the lifts and wasn't overheating going down the mountain. I'm 5'8, 130 lb and bought the small which worked well. It has an athletic fit and I liked that it's not bulky but provides the warmth I need. No thumb holes but not really necessary. Also, got a scuba neck with elastic to tighten and kept my head warm. Comes with the wash bag to protect the material.

Worn this hoodie in everything from 50F to 30F. Best midlayer I've ever owned. Breathable and warm. Dries quickly. Extremely light and easy to stuff in my pack.

I live in San Diego but go into the Sierras quite often. This Alpha 90 Hoody was part of a gear list from a PCT hiker I was following. I recommend this highly for those cool days in the moutains. It is comfortable and light. It is easy to store and will keep you very warm.
Excellent customer service
Bought an Alpha hoodie from this company. The XL was too small for me. I reached out seeing if they had any in the next size up. Customer service was quick to get back to me. They didn't have any larger sizes in stock. I was given a couple of links to where I could find an Alpha 90 in a bigger size. They also sent to the link to initiate the return process. I did return and got my refund quickly. A++++ customer service. Thank you!
So many compliments from other AT thru hikers!
Everytime im at camp for the night and put on my hoodie, hikers always ask about the alpha 90 hoodie when the inevitable gear conversations around the campfire take place. So far the weight and feel of the hoodie is superb! Started using in early May and have not used my puffy jacket once! My only concern is it's delicate material. As I pull off the hoodie, a tear at the seam towards the back of the neck at base of hoodie is coming apart. Hopefully I can repair at a tailor shop at my next resupply town.
