The Enigma is EE's lightest and most minimalist quilt. Pairing the beloved quilt template of their Revelation Quilt with a completely sewn-closed footbox, it's the perfect ultralight quilt for those who always get cold feet. Exceptionally warm as well as extraordinarily light, the Enigma offers upper body freedom of movement, while providing structure for your feet. The Enigma doesn't have a zipper or a built-in hood, saving even more space and weight in your pack.
The Enigma is a quilt, not a sleeping bag, which means it's designed to be used with a sleeping pad to provide insulation underneath you, between you and the ground.
Features:
- Pad attachment system uses elastic straps and clips on each side of the quilt to keep it secure on a sleeping pad and lock out drafts on cold nights.
- Snap and drawcord neck closure lets you fine-tune draft control.
- Unique U-shaped continuous baffles keep the down where you need it, all night long.
Includes:
- Silnylon Stuff Sack (0.3oz - 0.8oz | 9g - 23g)
- 100% cotton storage bag
- 2 Elastic Straps (0.4oz | 11g each - One Straight, One Loop)
*Optional "Draft Collar" available as an add-on for all 30, 20, and 10 degree Enigma Quilts sold HERE. (Add to cart separately.)
Selecting this option adds a draft collar to the head of your Enigma Quilt.

I love this thing so much it's going in my will. The fill is so lofty and the wide really helps being a side sleeper. I chose the closed footbox and do not regret it. It's so comfy and warm but easy enough to kick a foot out, or just drape it over you in the summer. It's the best peice of sleep gear I have and it's making me change how I value sleep items. I love it.

Enigma Quilt 850fp by Enlightened Equipment
I had been toying with the idea of changing to a quilt and tested the application by using my REI 45 degree mummy bag this year unzipped as a covering. So, for a trip to Tahoe National Forest in October where the temps got down to freezing I sprung for the Enigma quilt and it worked like a charm. It packs down very well and is so lofty that it's just yummy. I used it with my GG thinlight pad and a Thermarest NeoAir Xlite Women pad, which is a litte smaller and has a higher R rating. Very happy with it at 19oz and could be my last bag. Thanks!

Game Changer!
i am upgrading from a 30-degree mountain hardware phantom bag to this 20-degree quilt with a draft collar. that 10-degree jump is substantial - i was very toasty on a trip to pea soup lake recently. moving to a quilt has been so amazing for a stomach sleeper - my comfort level has soared. i am now going to upgrade to a wide sleeping pad, ditch my ul camp pillow, and just use some layers as my pillow. even compared to the ul mountain hardware bag this is practically the same size and weight while being significantly warmer. i even use my other bags compression sack.
