United StatesLight hat for hot weather
I've been using this hat mostly for runs in the hot, humid Florida summer. It's done a good job in protecting my very pale face from the sun despite having a relatively narrow brim, and it doesn't get too hot. Also, the cord at the back allows for quick adjustment if conditions get windy and I want to tighten it to secure it better. I haven't used it yet on a backpacking trip, but it's extremely packable and light and works so well for running, I think it'll be great.

My favorite feature on this cap is that I can fit my braid through the loop in the back and tighten it up. And I love the design. And how light weight it is. Basically love everything about it, and I can’t wait to wear it on my adventures!

I bought this hot weather cap in the middle of winter so I haven’t used it a whole lot yet. But I was pleasantly surprised about several features the few times that I did wear it. One is the bill that flips up and down. I saw that it did that in the pictures, but didn’t realize how useful a feature it is. When the sun is not in your eyes it’s nice to flip it up and not have your vision obstructed at all. And obviously, it’s quick and easy to flip down when you need to. The other feature I wasn’t expecting was that it covers my ears. Every other ball cap I’ve worn sits above the ears and makes me look goofy, for some reason. It makes sense for a sun cap to cover the ears as they can get painfully sunburned, but I hadn't thought about it beforehand. And now I don’t look as goofy wearing it as I do with other caps. Also, the reasons that I bought the cap in the first place - the cool graphics, light weight, and packability, did not disappoint. It is all that, and more. I have long hair and often wear it braided and in a bun on the back of my head. The adjustable cord lock is easy to use and holds the cap on snugly whether my hair is up or down. I haven’t used the cap in hot weather yet, but I did layer it under cold weather hats to see if it helped to keep my head warm. And I was pleased to find out that it did. And that makes it very useful for wearing in the desert, with hot days and cold nights. The Desert Cap by Move Free is well named, well made, and well worth the money!

Haven't used it on the trail yet but have worn it around the house and the fit is so perfect it seems like a part of the scalp. The light weight makes it seem like you are not wearing a hat at all but the SPF50 protection is still there. Also, the material seems like it will soak up sweat and transport it while cooling the head like those specially made cooling towels do.
