An ideal tent for sunny days

This review based on my hikes in Finnish Lapland in the early summer of 2024, 25 days combined. (Note that this is my first experience with a single-layer ultra-light tent): +The weight and small size, obviously. +Quick and easy to set up. Also easy to fold back. +A lot of space (I use it alone). The two entrances are smart. +Does stand firmly with the 8 pegs included. I only camped on woodlands, so no extreme wind conditions. +No tearings on the fabric. +It dries very quickly, provided the conditions are optimal. +Air-conditioning works well. -The fabric does not hold up to heavy rainfall, the water starts to drip through. On future trips I will use a tarp on top of it. -Compared to my previous (two-layer) tent, thermal insulation is poor. -On the other hand, direct sunlight heats it up very quick.

    Excellent light weight tent

I like the roominess and overall design. Intelligent and sensible. Very easy to set up and collapse to put away.

    Short and wet

i love gossamer gear, but this tent is a huge miss for me. if you plan to only take this tent in warm climates without rain you'll be fine. it's lightweight and relatively inexpensive, but aside from that i only have bad things to share. - "fits tall people" is a flat out lie. i'm 5'8" and my partner is 5'5". our head and feet are draped by the tent. it is not possible for us both to be in the tent without our sleeping bags touching the walls of the tent, and we're not tall by any means. - huge condensation issues. we've tried pulling the walls of the tent out, having the floor lifted, leaving the doors open when possible, but we've woken up soaked every night we've used the tent. yes, we know about proper site selection as well. - rainy weather issues. the bathtub floor is truly like a bathtub with the amount of water that's accumulated in the morning. whether condensation, rain, or most likely both- there are puddles to wade through in the tent. our sleeping bags, pads, and anything in the tent are soaked which is flat out dangerous in cold conditions. we've had back to back rainy days where we couldn't dry our bags out because the tent can't keep us dry. - i've contacted gossamer gear about these issues and they give the same cookie cutter response/advice you see in the faq's. not helpful and nothing to say about the misleading description on height, etc.

    Not for humans of HEIGHT

i’m 5’9”- athletic build. i woke up wet each morning- shoulders up and knees down. after two days, my sleeping bag never dried out completely. pretty miserable 8 days in yosemite… i do not recommend this tent to tall humans. i’m an at thru hiker: i know wet, but this was ridiculous. after one use, gg would not accept a return.
