Successful CDT Thru
Hiked the CDT in 2021 with the older model of this Zerk 40 and it was great the entire time. I went in the early season and was the first Northbounder to finish and it dealt with the frigid temps and rainstorms very well. Tons of dragging through avalanche forests, glissades etc and not a single tear. slight wear on the outer side pockets but be real..it was a tall order. Strongly recommend! --Bumpo
Good purchase
Well constructed, vest style traps are amazing, perfect size for warmer trips. No complaints so far!
Bought this pack for a recent trip and wasn't sure about the lack of a hip belt to support the weight at first, but I packed this out to < 25 pounds and didn't have any pain. Pack is pretty comfortable, shoulder + sternum straps do a good job of distributing the weight. I really like all the external pockets. Definitely a good pack to get into UL gear with, can see myself using it for years to come.
Excellent build quality. Compresses well down to carry-on size. Chest and hip pockets are well-placed and stretchy enough to secure water bottles or snacks. There's one extra strap whose placement I don't yet understand, and the foam backing was hard to remove. Otherwise this will be my travel companion of choice for a decade.
