Mountain Drifter 38l pack
This is a great pack I got the 19” thinking it might be too small ( 6’ ) but no, it fit great and wasn’t wide like other packs I’ve owned. Its made really well too. Just got back from the PCT and it’s held up so far carrying at least 30lbs. Time will tell if any issues come up but no issues as of yet.

love this pack
I've used this backpack on a 2 night trip in Yosemite valley with tent, 20 degree quilt, and full cook set. I've also used it for a 5 night hostel-to-hostel trek in Ecuador with less weight. In both cases it was excellent. It shaved over 2 pounds off of my previous pack weight and carries more comfortably. So far the material shows no signs of wear. I've been using either a closed cell foam pad or lightweight camp shoes on the inside of the pack as back support and both have worked well. I I plan on rigging a bungee cord system to hold the foam pad against my back outside of the pack in the future. This will give me a little more space inside and it'll be easier to access the pad which I use as a sit pad when taking breaks as well. I'm 6'4'' and have a longer torso than recommended for this pack, but I find that it fits fine regardless. With this style of pack where the hipbelt is not load-bearing (I don't use it anyway) the torso length is not as important. If everything else about this pack works well for you, don't fret about the torso measurements.
Drifter 28L Ultra - a great pack!
here is my review after 90+ miles, and i realize that this if for the 28l ultra version purchased from yar.gear. but, the drifter pack is one of the best packs i've used. full review and pics here -> https://www.goatbells.blog/2022/09/18/gear-yar-day-pack/ summary: i just love this pack. yar.gear is worth checking out. probably the most comfortable, functional day pack i have ever worn. i keep the weight with food and water below 20 pounds and have yet to be disappointed. the last 5 day hikes have all been done w/ this pack for a total of 90+ miles (spencer butte, willamette pass sobo, hardesty mt, pamelia lake sobo, and pamelia lake to jefferson park. i highly recommend putting a yar.gear pack on your gear list for review.

The Weekender
This pack is a great weekender, for the weekend warrior that wants to put on those miles but has that 9-5 to get back to on Monday. It’ll keep your pack weight down and is very customizable pairs great with Chicken Tramper phone pocket on one side and the Chicken Tramper water bottle sleeve on the other! The hip belt is also removable or replaceable with something with pockets. Great pack!

Love this pack!
This is my first foray into the ultralight pack world, and I am glad I went with the Mountain Drifter. I've used this pack on a section of the North Country trail and hiking a handful of MN State Parks. It's the perfect size to be a great day pack and a very lightweight 3-5 day trekking pack. The materials are quality, and it's incredibly comfortable. Love the massive side pockets, the stretchy mesh pocket on the front, and easy access pocket on the bottom of the pack. Tons of space inside and out. Buying from GGG has been consistently great, and living in MN, I love being able to swing by the shop to grab my order items. Thanks for all you do for hikers and backpackers!
