Use this ultralight fleece hoodie in all four seasons as a part of a versatile active layering system. 90gsm Alpha™ Direct Fleece allows for air exchange, dries insanely fast, and keeps you warm. Formerly known as the Alpha Direct Rip-Back Hoodie this now comes with an updated Kanga front pocket.
Polartec® Alpha™ Direct fleece fabric has an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio, providing active insulation and helping regulate body warmth for optimized comfort during stop-start activities. Its lightweight lofted fibers, mesh knit, and hydrophobic qualities make Alpha™ warmth-to-weight dependable, highly breathable, and fast-drying.

United StatesAwesome! - One point of consideration
This fleece from a performance perspective is everything it promises. It is lightweight. It is warm. It is awesome! I am still giving this fleece 5 stars, but it is sensitive to snagging. I have stagged it multiple times and it seems like it's pulling threads, there's no real way to massage the threads back in, so I cut them if I need to. It also seems that this has no immediate impact on its performance. It will be interesting to see how it goes over multiple wears

Surprised how light weight and cozy this thing is! But Def wear a wool long sleeve shirt underneath, as you walk you will feel the cold if you don't have a warm shirt on.
It is the bomb*
* its the bomb with a second layer. i just got back from my first trip using alpha direct but you have to have a wind layer. you would freeze in the snow as pictured. a wind shirt/jacket/or your rain layer makes it all work. i replaced my down puffy with not one but 2 alpha directs (a bit lighter than this one) and they weight the same as a hoodless ghost whisperer (pretty much same cost). in that they are 2 vs one they pack better. one can get wet and you're not *******. 2 layers vs one. 2 comfy hoods vs just a beanie. not down. 90 gsm is awesome. i pair it with a 60 gsm over top if i'm cold. in the end with my set up i end up with potentially 5 hoods/layers - sun hoodie/90gsm/60gsm/wind shirt/ and a frogg togg. bullet proof, uber light and useful combo - you have to try this type of gear.
