Recovering from a Brain Tumour operation and needing to get out & about. I’m fit’ish now!

After my last backpacking trip carrying a 48 lb pack for a 10 day solo hike on the Quachita Trail and having a heart attack. A med flight, and an open heart double by pass and a defib pacemaker, I am being forced by my limitations to dramatically reduce my carry weight.

My wife and I just got back from the Appalachian Trail. I have a Roo double but I bought a Roo single with Python 10s for less weight. I’m 6’1" and 250lbs and I slept great.

I started hiking/walking with my dog to relieve anxiety. It’s been a great remedy. I hope I win one of these. I could really use some of this stuff. I got my first true backpack recently and love it.

I dont even know what I would say if I won the first place package…would be a dream. I would probably take off and yo-yo the Colorado trail this fall. My plan is to start my CDT Thru-hike spring 2020 and finish my Triple Crown in 2021. As a Disabled Veteran, this ultralight set up would save the extensive wear and tear on my joints. Every finger and limb are crossed.
