The American Packrafting Association recently released data it collected from a 2017 survey on the sport of packrafting. This report is the first time any significant information on the trends in packrafting have been publicly shared.
Much of what the American Packrafting Association found is exactly what we expected, but a few things surprised us too! Specifically, we were shocked at how few women participate in packrafting, how many people choose to packraft solo, and how much crossover exists between people who packraft and people who mountain bike.
"APA hopes to encourage increased participation by women. The data wasn’t gathered to sit idle — we’re using it to assess direction and priorities for APA," said APA President Joseph Bell.
