Hyperlite Mountain Gear recently released the Mid 1, a pyramid-style, single-wall tent that's designed for solo thru-hikers and backpackers. Using a single trekking pole for setup, the Mid 1 is constructed with 100% waterproof, made-in-the-USA Dyneema© Composite Fabrics.
Hyperlite released the iconic UltaMid shelter a decade ago. The UltaMid has long been offered in 2-person and 4-person models.
This is the first time Hyperlite has paired down the shelter to a 1-person version, while also making some updates, like integrating no-see-um bug mesh. Dual peak vents on the Mid 1 help with airflow and condensation management, and a bathtub wall helps mitigate the chances of water entering from underneath the fly.

Hi Tim,
This thread has a good discussion around length and how it would fit someone who is 6’ tall. Cheers, Amy

I wonder how this would fit someone over 6’ tall. The speaker is 5’9", not sure whether someone much over 6’ would fit. It has a long interior length but after subtracting the unusable area to keep the pad and quilt off the walls, what is the actual available length, given the slope of the walls?
