Gifted to a Hiking Companion since 1976
I have been very impressed with the reviews and functionality of this stove that I got one for a friend of mine that we have been hiking together since 1976 when we were freshman in high school. This will update his cooking system from propane canister one burn stove to a lighter, functional workhorse of a stove!
Top Quality Stove!
Lightweight and well made. A steal compared to the MSR unit. My ignitor has worked flawlessly as well. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Solid Stove
This stove gets water boiling faster than all other free standing ones I have used in the past. Almost at fast as a jet boil! The quality is top notch as well. Feels really solid and I doubt it’ll break anytime soon with heavy use. If you want an efficient and durable stove for backpacking endeavors I would highly recommend it!
Old dog learns new trick!
I had convinced myself that my trusty Svea 123 and Sigg touristor wasn't really that much heavier or less convenient than a couple of titanium pots and a canister stove. Boy was I wrong! This new setup cut both size and weight nearly in half. The convenience is also amazing; just attach canister and go. No more priming or spilled fuel. We now take the 900 mil pot and stove with us even on day hikes so when we find a pretty spot we can brew a cup of tea while enjoying the view. Although I have no empirical data the Amicus seems to be faster than the Svea. Absolutely no regrets! ps support GGG and cottage industries!
Had to use lighter at high elevation
This stove boiled water very quickly and the arms kept the pot extremely stable. Only drawback was the igniter did not work at our high elevation camps so we had to use a lighter. Otherwise, excellent product!
