Highest rated stove on the PCT - powerful, fuel efficient and extremely wind-resistant
Boil 2 cups of water in under 2-1/2 minutes in strong winds and gusty weather. This well-made stove is able to stand up to harsh conditions.
Gale-force winds can hardly even affect the flame. This is made possible by the SOTO “Wind resistance” technology. The concave design of the burner head creates the effect of a built-in windscreen - the burner nozzles are surrounded by a vertical metal edge, that forms a protective trough, and the burner itself is aerodynamically shaped which directs the oncoming wind away from the flames.
Another innovation which makes the WindMaster unique is the Micro Regulator System. It is able to keep the stove’s performance constantly high, even when the cartridge is almost empty and temperatures are below zero. This is achieved using a sophisticated gas-line system that compensates for the pressure drop when the gas volume is reduced and for low temperatures.
The stove has extremely precise adjustability. The internally-routed, piezo-ignition cable allows the stove to be started reliably, at the push of a button.

24 mph wind..... No Problem!
So far it performed well. I took it out recently and did a tiny part of the PCT, from US Forest Service Green Valley Fire Station to Hikertown. It was nice and cool during the day, but 20-31 mph wind at night. I was cold, so I cooked inside the vestibule. But I have no doubt the stove would have also performed well outside the vestibule.

One of THE bests, with caveats
If you're reading this you probably have more isobutane stoves than you want to admit. Me too. I go straight bullet point to save you time: The GOOD. 1. Boils things FAST. 2. Somehow ignores crosswinds. (really) 3. Comes with a piezo (sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.) 4. The arms can handle a smaller container or expand to accommodate a large pot (by backpacking standards). 5. Solid build quality 6. My fuel seems to last longer with this stove, (although I can't explain the physics as to why). CONCERNS 1. The arms snap on and off, which is good for packing, but it scares the heck out of me that they're not going to stay connected. 2. The arms can get lost in the dark or if you're not paying attention. 3. People report that the arms can wear out (the mechanism that locks them to the stove stem). After a year of use, this seems plausible, but I haven't experienced any problems. TL;DR - A fuel-efficient stove that boils quickly and is all but immune to crosswinds, the SOTO WindMaster features a piezo igniter and stable, wide-spanning arms - provided they stay affixed to the stem. Buy once, cry once.

Soto windmaster !
Love the Soto windmaster! Works well, I would recommend this stove . It’s lightweight and works great.

Excellent stove
i just finished testing this in single digit temps (~5f). i left the stove and fuel outside in the snow and shade for about an hour. fuel was msr isopro 4oz. went back outside and the stove lit up right away with the piezo (2nd click). ggg is always fantastic. i normally use a whisperlite in temps like this, but this stove may change my mind ;)
