Winter weather can be harsh, but when the digits drop yours don’t have to feel the chill. Made from a combination of New Zealand's brushtail possum fur, and New Zealand Merino lamb's wool, these Brushtail Possum mittens provide plenty of warmth when you need it most. These mittens help keep your hands warm and cozy on those cold fall and winter nights.

The hair of brushtail possum is hollow, just like Polar Bear hair, which provides incredible warmth and water resistant. While typical wool may stay warm when wet, it takes forever to dry. If you get these mitts wet, the water shakes right out and they dry quickly. New Zealand's possums are unrelated to the opossums found in the United States. They are super cute, but they are also an invasive species that destroy the native plant and bird life.

Love my possums!

These mittens work great for me. They are soft (never felt scratchy to me) and warm, especially when I combined with a waterproof over mitt. I wore them every single day on their inaugural adventure on the Camino Frances. They will continue to be part off my gear on all upcoming adventures! Love them!

They're warm for their weight

I ordered the mitts, but got the gloves by mistake. They're warm though and will provide better dexterity. Garage Grown Gear is a good outfit to work with.

Good bang-for-buck!

i really like these and would probably give them a 4.5 if i could. they're warm, lightweight, and breathable enough where you don't wanna rip them off 3 miles into the hike. perfect for that 20f-40f range for me. only minor knock i have against them is the shape–it's the same for each hand, with the thumb sticking straight out to the side. great if you're in a pinch or don't want to think about which mitten goes on which hand, but definitely not as comfy as they could be when you're wearing mittens/gloves with the thumb sewn "below" the fingers and towards the palm. that said, if i ever lost them, i'd buy a new pair for sure.

Wow!!

Didn’t think I needed these, then Santa put them under the tree. To say the least, I’ll be ordering more - great product and keeps me warm and dry with great ventilation.

Run long

my hands run cold. these are warm lightweight mittens (but of course not windproof). i got medium sized as i wanted them to not be tight. these mittens run about 2” long above the ends of my fingers. i decided to modify by folding in and sewing so they are shorter. the rest of the mitten is sized just perfectly.
