The best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever made.

With cutting-edge Triangular Core Matrix™ construction and ThermaCapture™ technology, the XTherm™ NXT delivers a 7.3 R-value while weighing just 15.5oz | 439g in the Regular size. Put another way, the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever created. It is warmer, lighter, and thicker than the previous model, which is why the XTherm™ NXT cements the legacy of being the go-to sleeping pad for alpinists, mountaineers, and extreme cold expeditions.

At 3 inches thick, with horizontal baffles, all-night comfort and support are at hand, while 70D nylon on the bottom ensures the XTherm NXT holds up to extended expedition use. The WingLock™ Valve allows for rapid inflation and deflation but is also intuitive and easy to use in frigid weather when the gloves are not coming off. If reliable overnight warmth is the demand no matter how far the mercury dips and space in the pack is at a premium, there’s no finer sleeping pad than the XTherm NXT.

Features:

  • Best Warmth-to-Weight Ratio Ever: Refined Triangular Core Matrix™ construction and Thermacapture™ technology deliver a cold-conquering 7.3 R-Value while cutting over 2oz (57 g) in weight from the previous model
  • Premium Comfort: A 3-inch (7.6 cm) thick profile and horizontal baffled structure delivers premium backcountry comfort while keeping the weight to a minimum
  • Ultralight Durability: 70D nylon on the bottom withstands the wear and tear of extended expedition use, while 30D ripstop nylon on top keeps it light and packable
  • WingLock™ Valve: Delivers fast one-way inflation and rapid deflation without giving up the ability to easily purge air while you lay on it for comfort micro-adjustments - even with gloves on.
  • Multiple Sizes: 3 size options allow you to get the XTherm™ NXT that is perfect for your sleep system
  • Winner of Backpacker Outside Magazine 2023 Gear Guide Editor's Choice

I was initially sent the wrong sleeping pad, but I emailed GGG support and they were very quick to send me a return label for the wrong pad and ship out the correct pad with expedited shipping so I could have it for a trip I'm going on in a couple days. The pad itself is fantastic and is the best pad I've ever had by far. Very light and durable feeling (for an air pad) and I started feeling warm immediately after laying on it. It is louder than other pads I've had, but I don't mind that for the weight and high R-value I'm extremely pleased with this purchase 🙂

So good so far

Expensive, but well worth it so far. Did extremely well sleeping in the snow at 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Best Weight to Warmth Ratio

honestly, i haven't used this pad yet, and am not likely to do so until may or june this year. i sleep pretty cold and with the 743, r-value and my 10 degree enigma quilt i am hoping to be comfortable below 30 degrees f. sleeping cold, as i do, the weight of this pad is fine if the performance proves worthy. i normally just do overnights at about 6 thousand feet of elevation, and don't ever snow camp. i am hoping for the best with this pad, but i have had good luck with thermarest products being well made and reasonably durable.
