Brynje (pronounced "brin-ya") of Norway is a small family business with a big goal – to deliver the best performing cold weather/active base layer possible. Since 1887, they have been world renowned for quality, functionality and durability. The mesh design was inspired by historic Viking armour know as Brynje. The novel idea was to construct an insulating and ventilating garmet that could trap warm air between the outer clothes and skin. They started out using fishnets and have since evolved to much more advanced fabric types such as 100% Schoeller® Polycolon® synthetic yarn, now Brynje offers collections that work equally well no matter where you are; from mountaineering to an everyday cold weather run.
