Lightweight alpaca wool gloves for cold-weather outdoor activities

These wool gloves are perfect for layering in winter for extra warmth and dryness for your hands and fingers. For thousands of years, alpacas have adapted to the extreme environments of the Andes Mountains, where temperatures range widely. Alpaca wool offers the best warmth-to-weight ratio and helps to regulate body temperature. The harsh highland conditions created the ultimate outdoor fiber, designed to keep you protected, clean, and comfortable.

100% plastic-free: even the threads are natural cotton!

Care: Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with a gentle/wool detergent. Wash with like colors. The dye will likely tint the washing water, but the color of your garment won’t be changed. If hand-washing, rinse the garment(s) in cold water and gently squeeze out the excess water. Lay the garment flat to dry. Iron on warm setting if you feel ironing is necessary. Store your garments preferably folded rather than hung.

Not What You Think Your Getting

1. These gloves run small, and sizes are not true to form. They fit oddly between the thumb and index fingers, my finger tips bottom-out before the gloves were fully seated on my hand. Making my hands feel like Daffy Duck on the trail. Hummm possible new Trail Name? The collar of the glove barely covers my wrist. Glove is tight on fingers and hand. It is sized for a small hand. Not a 6’2 249# hiking beast named Rougarou 2. Fragile fabric. These gloves did not make 50 miles with trekking poles (How dare I!) on the IAT in snow & wet before holes started showing up like an unsupervised rabbit family. 3. Gloves are too expensive to be on an UL hiking sight. 4. Pluses. Great color. Comfortable no itching dry or wet. Kept my hands warmer while being soaking wet for hours on end. Easy to get on and off wet or dry. I love these gloves in a verbally abusive ex-girlfriend way. However, I would not buy ANY alpaca product for hiking. I would definitely buy them for camping and sitting around the fire telling Lies from the Trail stories…”One time I met this alpaca on a Zero….” 5. Thank you GGG for a great product, but somewhat displaced use profile.

Alpaca gloves by Arms of Andes - odd fit

these gloves fit oddly between the thumb and index finger on my hand wherein the fingers bottomed out on my finger tips before the they were fully seated. Nice material however.

Fragile

I bought these after reading that the fibers used in Marina will are extremely short, and therefore likely to unravel in gloves. I had hoped that alpaca wool would be more durable. These gloves are extremely thin, and did not last one day trip before ripping on both thumbs. We did use them backcountry skiing, and wore them while buckling our boots. They are certainly not up to this task. If you want something that will only go inside of your other gloves, then these might be OK.

Runs pretty small and very little warmth

Not terribly impressed. As mid-weight liners, these are ok. But they won’t bring enough warmth to the party to use in any other way, and they run on the small side. If you normally use an L or XL, don’t even bother.
