A friend gifted me a Dyneema bag, which introduced me to ultralight gear, and I fell in love. Unfortunately, the seams on the bag blew open after years of use by him and me. I contacted GGG, and they said they could help if I could get the original order number, which my friend still had. They issued me some store credit, which I was going to use to buy the same bag; sadly, it's out of stock. But one thing that is not out of stock is all the random gadgets, gizmos, and gear on this site. I ended up getting a new mini flashlight and some hygiene gear. 10/10 stuff and will shop again (I only have 111 items on my wishlist). :)

Just received my Zenbivy Ultralight Mattress 🤗 haven’t had the chance to use it on a trip yet but tried it out in my living room & SUPER COMFORTABLE!! Have now placed my second order with Garage Grown Gear. The first arrived in reasonable time, intact in a robust box, sensibly packed, and everything supplied per the order. Good quality gear - GGG offers a wide catalogue of equipment and accessories ideally suited to both the UL & non-UL hiker. Have been recommending GGG to people I have met on trail when the conversation has touched on the subject of specific gear.
With backpacking and outdoor recreation exploding the past decade, there's an explosion of gear options everywhere. Some of it's great, most of it sucks; so it's amazing to have a website that curates the best of the best and makes it easy to find good companies and solid gear!
GGG is everything REI wants to be and everything Amazon can never be; you occasionally might find the same gear somewhere else a teensy bit cheaper, but if you care about the internet not sucking it's well worth the money to spend it here instead. "Cottage" brands or not, GGG is doing the work of finding good gear and having reviews you can actually trust aren't spam nonsense. It's my favorite place to buy anything on the internet.
Okay, the day before New Year’s Eve, as having no date or hot plans for tomorrow night, what is a better fun and wallet poor (but with great savings and excitement), way to spend my time and money? GGG has been my “ go to,” for new and innovative gear for a few years now. Although some brands are simply not “ cottage gear” anymore, (I.e. HMG, Gossamer Gear), it’s still the best place for checking out new stuff. Shipping is always quick and I’ve received a hand signed thank you note before! Keep rockin’ GGG!
After years of buying little things from GGG here and there, I'm finally gearing up on a larger scale for my Appalachian Trail thru-hike! There's always something new to check out in addition to old standby brands, which means it never gets old "just browsing" through the site... spoiler alert: it's usually never "just browsing." This site has everything you need to support awesome small businesses with the same love of the trail as we do. The thoughtful and clever companies this site has given a sales platform for, have come out with are brining backpacking as a whole to a new level. It lets a 40 plus hiker like myself that started with heavy Coleman products and LL Bean clothes as a kid take my hiking adventures to a whole new level. Shipping was fast and easy, and the customer service is there great if there is ever an issue. Shaved off about 3 pounds on my pack out alone with this last purchase. Thanks GGG!!
GGG is my go to place for hiking gear and supplies. I love that I can go to one website and usually find the stuff that fits my needs. And as an added bonus I am supporting cottage gear companies.
The products they carry are truly niche for the gear-obsessed ultralight backpacker. I can find a great selection of ultralight, high quality products on this site, rather than search many different sites, and bigger brands to find specific products that meet my needs / demands for products.
GGG has been my go to site for gear purchases since I found it because they carry just about everything I could need as an ultralight backpacker / trail runner / day hiker and mountain biker.
Also, I'm impressed with how quickly their products have been shipping and arriving to my house -- much quicker than some larger brands, who you would think have a streamlined order fulfillment process.
All in all, the gear here has been great, and some products I don't think you can find anywhere else, and they ship and arrive quickly. Very happy to be supporting a small business!
I’d like to thank GGG for everything they are. The service is great if you have questions and delivery (international in my case) has always been prompt. Even if I haven’t bought through GGG directly they’ve introduced me to heaps of niche brands and I’ve gone directly to the supplier sometimes if GGG are out of stock or not my size or whatever so they’re a great resource. I’m here to support small business. F the big guys they don’t need my money and in most cases it’s inferior. Keep up the good fight Garage! 👍

I've just received my third order from Garage Grown Gear (thank you!) and could not be happier with the service. Everything neatly and securely parcelled up and speedily delivered - especially as the parcel has to work its way across the states to Newark then across the Atlantic to London, finally up to myself on the Welsh border. The quality of the products from GGG are top tier and mainly manufactured in the US. I, for one, will always look to buy products produced in the West first and foremost. No issues with customs and this won't be my last order, I'm sure.
