How in the world do these attach to my backpack?

I was so excited to see a waterproof version of these types of pockets, but I didn't pay much attention to the way they would attach to my backpack. I just assumed that they would work on the typical backpack. When I received them, I couldn't figure out how to attach it to my pack and had to look up the process online. After watching the video, I realized that they would not attach correctly to my OSPREY backpack without some modifications. I have a very popular backpack, and it won't attach easily. That seems like a miss in the design. FWIW, I have at least 15 different backpacks (between my husband's and mine and the different use cases) and it will only attach as designed on one of them. I should also note that the clip is incredibly difficult, bordering on impossible, to unclip and reclip. You have to do some weird ninja manipulations of pushing in, pulling down, and twisting to get it to unlatch and relatch. I am so disappointed...

        Tried lots, Hyperlite’s tops

Have used the Hyperlite Mountain Gear Shoulder Pocket on my Hyperlite pack for years. Tried Brands X an Y on other packs, with limited satisfaction. Now, having purchased 2 more, my Deuter & Osprey pack also carry necessities: cell, glasses, Rite in the Rain N# 135, and pen, and are able to digest a few more items as needed. Goodbye, Brands X and Y!

        Positive

This shoulder pocket is perfect!. It is large enough to hold my larger sized phone. It’s waterproof and zipper works easily. I am able to attach it to all my backpacks. I keep my glasses in the outside pocket.

        Glad I purchased it.

Allows me to be a fast draw with my phone/camera. Have captured some great photos of wildlife. Also gives me a handy place to store my Ombraz glasses.

        Nails it!

Such a simple thing with a very specific function, but I see dozens of designs that don’t quite get it right. This one is the perfect size, with secure storage, positive attachment and no unnecessary doodads. Looks great, too.
