Backpack Ventilation Frame
This is an excellent addition to my backpack. I have a Zpack which has good ventilation. The pack frame compresses the pack body to get the space for ventilation. That compression is not needed with the ventilation frame. Not only do I have great ventilation but my pack is easier to load. Thanks for this great product.

Fits great in my Gossamer Gear Mariposa
I love my Mariposa backpack but the foam pad on my back always makes me sweat. This ventilation frame fits perfectly where the foam pad was and feels comfortable. I'm look forward to using it after my broken toe heals.

Excellent ventilation but developed pressure points and hotspots after 8-10 hours
Works great, feels great... for a while. Frame developed pressure points/hotspots for me with Zpacks Nero Ultra 38L Backpack carrying ~25 lbs after about 8-10 hours of hiking. I tried cutting out a few of the offending struts but frame still developed hotspots. Subsequently purchased a Zpacks Arc Haul Ultra Backpack which honestly did not ventilate as well as the Ventilation Frame by Vaucluse.

Innovative idea
I used this ventilation frame on n 8 day backpack, on my Durston Kakwa 55. My pack started at 34lbs. The first day I enjoyed the ventilation and my back stayed mostly dry. On day2 it started putting pressure on a few spots on my back. I stopped to adjust it several times, but ended up taking it off around noon. I left it off the next day as well. On the fourth day I tried it again, and wore it another half day. The rest of the trip it spent strapped to the outside of my pack. I think it’s an innovative idea, and it works. You can actually feel the wind blowing across your back. I just couldn’t get comfortable with it. Maybe with a smaller lighter pack, maybe on a trip with less, and shorter days, I don’t know. It’s just not for me. It’s something you have to try for yourself to know.
Ultralight Backpack Ventilation Frame by Vaucluse Backpack
The jury is still out on this device, but it seems to perform as advertised. Its very loose connection to the pack is somewhat off-putting, but the pack does seem to settle in its correct place. My back does not get/stay as wet as before. This might give additional life span to my 34 year old pack (a Lowe Alpine Systems Half Dome).
