Anda (Spanish verb): he/she walks, you walk. From the verb andar - to walk, to go, to be.
In 2018, ANDA Founder Dan decided to go on his first backpacking trip ever with his wife and two friends. That trip was the JMT (or Nüümü Poyo in Paiute): over 220 miles for 20 days, culminating atop Mt. Whitney at an elevation of 14,505’. Dan was bit by the backpacking bug, and in 2021 Dan hiked over 1,200 miles on the PCT from Campo to Quincy. This was where ANDA began.
Dan wanted to combine his love for hiking with the desire to craft something tangible in this digital world. So he bought a sewing machine and started making ultralight gear that he would want to use on future backpacking adventures. ANDA is about enjoying more with less. ANDA uses 100% recycled fabrics and packaging whenever possible and sews fabric trimmings into other fun gear.
