For the people behind First Ascent Coffee, their lives are shaped by the Rocky Mountains that soar above Crested Butte, Colorado. As the owners of a small, specialty coffee shop in town, their adventures in the surrounding mountains often came with extra equipment: pounds of whole beans, grinders, a French press. With lots of curiosity and grit, they started trying things, sourcing beans from our favorite regions. They roasted to different levels and experimented with unique brewing methods. They freeze-dried over and over and over until they came up with a perfectly selected, perfectly roasted, perfectly brewed coffee that just happened to be instant.
