Andy Bentz and John Zahorian founded Pa'lante Packs with one thing in mind: to create simple, ultralight, clean packs. "Pa’lante" came from Andrew’s time living in Panama, where “para adelante” is popularly shortened to Pa’lante, meaning onward or to keep going. This reflects both of their style of hiking, where you go fast and light, continually moving through the landscape. This style of hiking is the driving factor for all of their products. They are also are a bit different from many companies starting out in that they don’t really do custom work. They've spend a lot of time iterating during the design process and making a lot of very deliberate design decisions and putting miles in to really live and connect with the designs before they release them to others.
This intersection of durability, comfort and style is exactly what makes Pa’lante the kind of pack that ultralight hikers want. Designed by ultralight thru-hikers for ultralight thru-hikers. Bentz' model has always been to hike first and “make cool shit” second.
