Great bag, but Wide isn’t wide enough
First, the loft, quality of construction, weight etc is excellent. Katabatic clearly makes excellent gear. I’m disappointed the Wide bag I ordered isn’t quite wide enough for a broad chested sleeper who tosses and turns. I laid it out next to my Enlightened Equipment Wide bag and the EE has 3” extra width- which make a big different in comfort.

Great quality, make sure to get the right width and length!
Garage Grown Gear makes the researching, buying, and testing experience super easy. Great prices and partnerships with high quality vendors. For this quilt, I’ve since returned it. Had gotten a height much taller than me at 6’6 vs my 5’8 (thinking I would use the extra length by folding it over, use it as a head cover etc). With this quilt, you need to get the heigh correct because the clips to your sleeping pad tie to a certain height for the bag. Otherwise your feet won’t stick out either. The width, for the normal I found was a bit constricting as well. I’ve compared this particular item to an REI quilt which doesn’t have as great of a tie down system.

Flex 22 - 2022 version
I had been thinking about switching to a quilt for a long time; almost bit the bullet when Katabatic offered 2022 versions on sale at the beginning of this year, but did not act quick enough. Somehow, GGG showed up on my Instagram feed. I am not a fan of social media and intend to delete all my accounts soon, but for some reason I followed the link, saw they had the Flex 22, 2022 on sale, and purchased the quilt. Sometimes evil does cause good things to happen. The quilt has only been used it on two nights. Both nights were warm, probably 60 degrees, and I got exactly what I wanted out of the quilt, not warm not cool, just right. The real test will be when the temperatures plummet into teens. Will the quilt plus base layer plus tent mate that gives off a ton of heat, be enough to keep me comfortable? I certainly hope so. It will likely be several months before I experience those colder temps and I was hoping to wait until then to write a review but GGG kept bugging me, perhaps they knew my writing style was fun and entertaining. I never got cold in my 15 year old 20 degree, down sleeping bag, but it didn't work well in warmer temperatures. The bag was only a half-zip and there were some nights it was too cool to stay out of the bag and too warm to get in the bag. In the mid-Atlantic, it is not uncommon to have a 20 degree night followed by a 60 degree night, so a wide range was important to me. Also, it is very important to support small, US owned, businesses. I try to only buy American. The shell of the Flex 22 was made in China, but Americans filled it with down. Go team USA! Active sleeper with hot feet
Great quilt for an active sleeper who goes to bed hot and wakes up cool by morning. ’m 6’1” 185lbs and chose the long wide for extra flexibility. Glad I did. It feels right for my size and tendency to roll around all night. No cold spots. Toe box draw cord kept allowed for me to stick my feet out until they cooled off then snuggle them in when I wanted them warm. Good work Katabatic team and GGG for quick delivery.

super light and warm quilt
it weighs almost nothing and keeps you nice and toasty in cold weather
