With the Framus, Bonfus sought to create a backpack that is lightweight enough for long and fast adventures and can provide a greater level of comfort compared to traditional frameless packs. Bonfus achieved this by applying their no-nonsense, minimalist, and practical design approach, using the most durable and lightweight fabrics and components that they could find, and taking advantage of the experience and craftsmanship of their skilled sewers.
The Framus 58L is the perfect pack for multi-day adventures where long food carries and heavier pack loads require a rigid frame for superior weight transfer.

- Two removable contoured aluminum stays designed with a special curvature to form a cap with your back for improved ventilation
- Removable 5mm EVA-foam padding in the internal back panel sleeve
- 5mm lumbar padding for extra comfort
- Comfortable 11mm (7/16”) thick shoulder straps, padded with EVA foam and 3D spacer mesh. Select use of 3D mesh around the neck area for added comfort.
Reinforced bottom section with Ultra400 fabric - Durable side pockets with double-layer elastic at the hem to firmly hold your gear in place
- Comfortable 38mm (1.5″) wide webbing at the hip belt
- V top compression strap
- Roll top closure with lateral attachment closure
- Ice axe attachment point at the base of the front mesh pocket, plus an elastic clip for extra securing
- Functional 4-point compression shock cords that fully cover the pack sides from top to bottom, allowing for a significant reduce pack volume when needed and stabilizing the load
- Daisy chain on shoulder straps for adding extra shoulder pouches or other gear
- Chest straps with loops for lightweight hardware-free connection to the daisy chain
- Drainage hole at each side pocket

LOVE IT
Durable, waterproof, lightweight, comfortable, with thoughtful design features. Love the reachable waterbottle pockets, attachment loops on the hipbelt and shoulder straps. The stretchy outside pocket is massive. Used this on multiple training trips and one 5-day solo backpacking trip this Summer on the CDT with 28lb total weight. It carried like a dream on long days. Also have used it for air travel (fits in overhead or if underfilled, fits under the seats). Even made it work as an experiment for a 6-day NON-ultralight trip by packing everything to capacity, opening the Y-strap all the way and tucking a group food bag under it.

Bonfus Framus 48L pack
I recently started looking for a new Ultralight pack. I been using the zpacks Arc Blast for quite a few yrs. and it finally needed to be replaced. My base weight runs 9/10 lbs. and was looking for a 40L internal pack with load lifters. At 65yrs old I prefer them. This Framus is right in line with Ultralight packs. This pack is comfortable! with a frame, Love it!!! I agree with other comments about side pockest being a little small. I can squeeze 2 1 liter bottles next to each other but it's really tight. I reach around for my water. I Don't care to have water hanging off the front of me. Sometimes I like to use a 1.5 liter on each side if knowing long water carries might happen and it's very hard to put back in. Not a game changer for me though because of the comfort of this pack. I'll live with it. Overall very pleased with it. Heading to AZT next wk with it to finish last half of trail. The hipbelt fits and holds very nicely, no complaints here! 👌 They just need to address hipbelt pockets being a little bigger and even a bungee pull to tighten pocket up, I would repurchase!!!🙂
Best pack I’ve used.
Hands down best and most comfortable pack I’ve used. It carried my gear exceptionally well and handled the weight really well. Would definitely recommend to others.

Love this Pack. Extremely well made, perfect size, very comfortable. Love the internal frame. Even with a Bearicade inside, it was perfect. My only gripe was the water bottle holders on the side could be a little larger
