We are using shoulder strap water bottle holders with QuickStraws attached to the Hydriam flasks. For us it works to sip and walk sip and walk as we hike down the trails.

"I really wanted the Cnoc Quickstraw to work, but unfortunately, it falls short. It doesn’t seal properly, and I have to keep ******* until all the air is out of the bottle, which is frustrating. It seems like it’s missing a straw piece that goes deeper into the bottle to make drinking easier. The design just isn’t there yet. Now I have two straws that don’t work. Also, be aware that you need to buy an adaptor, which I didn't realize when I got the first straw. I purchased the shorter straw with the adaptor, but neither works as expected. Very disappointed."

For me, this has all the advantages of a water bladder with none of the drawbacks. I can easily see how much water I have in my active bottle and can drink hands free. I've used it on trail now several times and haven't had any issues with leaks at all. I bought an extra one of these and am going to try to make my vectra / sawyer squeeze system screwless.

I was super excited to use this, but it does *not* seal with the CNOC adapter. Huge bummer.

this gadget made it so much easier to sip water while i hiked, giving me the best of both worlds: i didn’t have to stop to drink water (as opposed to a classic water bottle) and also could see how much water i had left (as opposed to a water bladder). however, i wish it came as one piece with the connector cap! my straw came disconnected and fell off on day 5 of my backpacking trip. the connector cap worked to keep my water bottle secure, but i lost the straw part and was super bummed. had to pull the bottle out of the pocket to drink for the rest of the trip.
